Autism and Parenting stress

                                   Autism and Parenting stress

No doubt, Parenting is a tough job today but parenting a child with autism is more challenging. A child's birth is the best thing that happens to parents. But no parent is ever prepared to hear that their child is diagnosed with this disorder.

Autism is a developmental disorder that damages the ability to communicate and interact. It is not a mental illness but a lifelong disorder. It can be caused by neurological or genetic factors. It impacts the overall growth of child in terms of cognitive, social or emotional behaviour. It is a quite challenging to handle the autistic child everyday for parents. It can take a toll on overall health of parents, i.e mentally as well as physically. Many parents think what will happen to their autistic child after them? who will take care of him/her?. All these questions keeps on digging their mind every time.

For all those unanswered questions, there is a solution.Few days back, I came to know about one such non-profit organisation called care4autism that works for the children and adults with autism and their residential facility called "Autism Ashram" or "Autism Friendly Village".

This is India's first exclusive residential facility in Hyderabad having a home, school for learning and therapies, vocational centre & hospital with permanent medical staff for those children/adults. Their parents can also stay with them but then they have to help the organisation in running the facility in the best possible manner and according to their life skills.

For more details, you can visit their website- https://www.care4autism.in/residential-facility.html

Remember one thing that "Kids with special needs are not weird or odd. They only want what everyone else wants. To be accepted"

It is the personal experience of one’s life. Similarly, our kids have to make basic financial decisions in their life at some point of time.
