How to inculcate fitness and healthy lifestyle in our kids

Fitness and healthy lifestyle in our kids

During this digital age, it is very important to inculcate fitness and healthy lifestyle habits in our children. As parents are the role model for their kids, so making family fitness routine is our foremost duty. No doubt, its a team work. Nowadays because of more cyber exposure, children are refraining from physical activities which earlier used to be the part of their lifestyle.

Remember, " Healthy mind is there where there is healthy body ". Therefore, at a very young age, fitness should be taught to them by parents. This will reduce the risk of developing bone-related diseases later on in life. So make your children involved in any physical activity or any form of exercise they enjoy. This will become their habit that will lasts with them for decades. As parents, we can at least give them this gift.

Here is what parents can do bare minimum:

  • We should take time for exercise at least an hour in a day, be it in the form of yoga, walking, running, cycling, dance workouts  or any sports activity. This way our children will learn from us. This will boost their mental confidence and improve concentration also.

  • Limit the screen time of your children to the maximum of two hours a day. This will automatically push them towards the fitness goal.
  • Encourage them to eat lot of veggies and fruits in a day. Also to drink lots of water. This will keep them hydrated all day long.
  • As a family, ensure to eat healthy breakfast so as to start up the day well.
  • Always make their routine to get proper sleep by going to bed on time.
  • Ensure to have a rest day from exercise also in a week. Children hate following same routine daily.

In the nutshell, this kind of fitness lifestyle not only makes them healthy but also positively impacts the brain and improves academic attention of the child.

They have to make wise investment decisions ahead to be successful in life. With proper skills and knowledge about how to use money wisely at a young age, they can have good financial success in their lives. Investing is one of the abandoned component in the school curriculum of our children. Importance of Nutrition in Kids

How to explain importance of Nutrition to kids In my previous blog, I have shared many things about positive parenting in modern era.Now a days, parents are bit sceptical how to introduce the concept of value of nutrition to their children as kids today are more interested in having junk food. Parents who make good  nutritional  choices for their kids throughout childhood assist in keeping childhood obesity at bay as well as other diseases that can develop in adulthood like hypertension, diabetes, and heart diseases.  Balanced and healthy  diet  strengthens your child's immune system, helps him or her maintain healthy weight, and aids in his or her brain and bone development.                                      What I feel is that value of Nutrition should be introduced to the kids at an early childhood stage so that they can learn sharing and socialising skills along with good eating habits .Proper and  balanced nutrition makes them mentally and physically sound as they can perfo

How to make your child a keen reader

Reading at an early stage                                             In today's digital world when everything is available online, it is difficult to create a reading space for your child. Reading is important for emotional and intellectual development of the child. There is a very famous saying, "Books are the best friends". No doubt in that. Reading on regular basis helps in following ways: Builds imagination in the child. Improves vocabulary and better comprehension. Develops concentration. Sparks creativity. One thing to be noted - "A reader today, leader tomorrow".  So we can see there are many benefits to inculcate reading habits in your child. This habit will definitely make them land in their world of imagination.   I can say from my personal experience that reading makes a child, a creative thinker. My seven year old daughter developed this habit at an early stage. When she was almost two years, I introduced hard board books to
