How to make your child a keen reader

                       Reading at an early stage

In today's digital world when everything is available online, it is difficult to create a reading space for your child. Reading is important for emotional and intellectual development of the child. There is a very famous saying, "Books are the best friends". No doubt in that. Reading on regular basis helps in following ways:

  • Builds imagination in the child.
  • Improves vocabulary and better comprehension.
  • Develops concentration.
  • Sparks creativity.

One thing to be noted - "A reader today, leader tomorrow". So we can see there are many benefits to inculcate reading habits in your child. This habit will definitely make them land in their world of imagination.

I can say from my personal experience that reading makes a child, a creative thinker. My seven year old daughter developed this habit at an early stage. When she was almost two years, I introduced hard board books to her. She was always surrounded by educational charts inside her room. I believe this always helped her to develop quest for new learning. She is always a keen reader since then.

And remember one thing, you have to sit and enjoy reading with them so that they should make and learn it as a habit at an early stage. This will help them in their life ahead and make them an avid reader. This will help them finally find love in literature. So, take time and sit with them
